They are normally covered in fur, although variations in the genetic baseline have expressed themselves as at least two distinct subspecies. Cathar are noteworthy hand-to-hand combatants, possessing retractable claws, strong physiques and natural agility."

The Cather codex entry is unlocked by players belong to the Galactic Republic faction after speaking to Yael, a female Cathar that stole medical supplies from Fort Garnik in order to treated sick refugees. Speaking with Yael is an objective of the mission Mercy.
