~ Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Sith Inquisitor opening crawl

Expertise in conducting Force energies further allows Sith Inquisitors to draw upon the life essence of themselves and others. This energy can be channeled to bolster their powers, harm their foes, and even to reinvigorate their allies. An Inquisitor's skills with a Lightsaber are equally impressive. Often wielding a double-bladed Lightsaber, Inquisitors use quick, guileful, and lethal maneuvers to strike their enemies down with astonishing speed.

Whether facing a traitorous fellow Sith or a crowd of Republic soldiers, the Inquisitor fights with unlimited fury to create a storm of destruction:

  • Focusing Force energies to control the flow of air, Sith Inquisitors can incapacitate their foes by lifting them off the ground and encircling them in a small storm of energy. By the time the targets return to the fight, the Inquisitors are more than prepared to finish them off.
  • Charging their own bodies up with massive current, Sith Inquisitors are capable of releasing a wave of Force energy to blast everyone and everything in their vicinity. This explosive voltage not only drains the life of the Inquisitors' enemies, but often knocks them to the ground as well.
  • Jolts of electrical energy vault from the Sith Inquisitor's fingertips to weaken and often paralyze opponents. Many of the Inquisitor's attacks make use of this skill.

Specialization[]

At character creation Sith Inquisitors have to choose the path of the Assassin or the Sorcerer. This choice cannot be changed after selected.

Assassin Sorcerer
  • Double Bladed Saber
  • Light Armor
  • Stealth
  • Melee DPS or Hybrid DPS or Tank

Speed and deception are the tools in the Assassin's arsenal. Whether using stealth to infiltrate a Republic base and remove a high-profile target or tactically entering a large-scale battle, the Assassin's dual-bladed Lightsaber flashes with deadly precision to provide a relentless offense and when necessary, a formidable defense. The Assassin can channel the Force just as easily, mentally assaulting an enemy and manipulating a confrontation to ensure his side maintains the upper hand.

  • Single Saber
  • Light Armor
  • Force Lightning / Force Magic
  • Ranged DPS or Healer

The Dark Side holds dangerous secrets – and immense power for those who dare to uncover them. The Sorcerer reaches into the darkest corners of the Force to harness volatile energies that can wreak devastation on his enemies and bolster or even heal his allies. The air around a Sorcerer crackles with dark energy, and those foolish enough to get in a Sorcerer's way soon learn a new definition of suffering.

History[]

Sinister, Deceptive, Prodigy of Force Power[]

The history of the Sith Empire is fraught with scheming politics and dark secrets—the lifeblood of the Sith Inquisitor. Treachery hides around every corner in the Empire's dark corridors, and survival depends on an individual's natural cunning and the will to manipulate and defeat their enemies and allies alike. The Inquisitor experiments with forbidden powers to not only survive in this cutthroat environment, but to excel and seize authority.

Regardless of potential, few acolytes succeed in facing the rigorous trials to become Sith Inquisitors. Only the most determined acolytes attain such an achievement, but these Sith are often the ones to watch. Due to their manipulative genius, Inquisitors are skilled at exploiting both their enemies and their allies to further their own personal agendas. Channeling this Force energy, Inquisitors are capable of draining the life from their enemies and using it to feed themselves and their allies.

Though their skills are varied and many, Sith Inquisitors are most feared for their ability to channel the energy of the Force, making them a spectacle to behold on the battlefield. Seething sparks of lightning explode from the Inquisitors' fingertips and wrap their enemies in tendrils of pure Force energy. Because Inquisitors can twist the Force into lightning to stun, subdue, or destroy their foes, it has become their signature. Those who have experienced the sensation of the Inquisitor's Force Lightning and survived forever recoil from the crackling sound of electricity.

Mastering the Dark Side[]

To reach the highest echelons of power, the Inquisitor needs more than Force Lightning and a razor-sharp mind. The most formidable Inquisitors dare to explore unorthodox practices by investigating the enigmas of the past and by unlocking new powers for themselves. The Force is a source of unlimited potential—a wellspring Inquisitors tap and bend to their will. Such intensity allows Sith Inquisitors to become architects of the Empire's future... or simply the architects of their own destruction.

Field Recon[]

The destruction Sith Inquisitors leave in their wake rarely allows for the survival of any recorded images. In the cases where the Inquisitors fury has been caught on holo, however, the daunting presence and the awe-inspiring power at the Inquisitors' disposal present a striking picture. Whether the Inquisitor wields a Lightsaber with lightning-sharp attacks, or just Force Lightning itself, it's always a dazzling display of deadly energy.

Outfitting[]

Asserting power and authority is one of the highest priorities for the Sith Inquisitors. Their choice of attire reflects this strategy, as they often prefer dark, high-contrast robes to express their sophisticated tastes and ambitions for political control. Nonetheless, despite regal appearances, great attention is given to ensure all their attire allows the flexibility for stunning acrobatics in Lightsaber combat. Of course, some Inquisitor outfits take expression to the highest extreme—designed to inspire sheer terror in those the Inquisitor comes into contact with.

Story[1][]

Prologue: Ascension To Power[]

Ravaged by the Great War, the Sith Order allows Force-sensitive slaves into its ranks. Most slaves are too weak to complete the trials. But one slave displays incredible cunning and a fearsome talent for the dark side. Begrudgingly instructed by Overseer Harkun, the slave acolyte conquers the trials, dominates a Dashade assassin named Khem Val into servitude, and overwhelms the other students, including a Sith pureblood groomed for success. Despite Overseer Harkun's attempts to sabotage the slave and preserve the pure Sith legacy, the acolyte triumphs to become a Sith inquisitor. The enigmatic Sith Lord Zash embraces the inquisitor as her apprentice, beginning the former slave’s ascension to power.

Chapter One: Scion of Kallig[]

The Sith inquisitor answers to Lord Zash, an eerily pleasant Sith Master. At Zash’s bidding, the inquisitor sabotages and ultimately destroys the cyborg Darth Skotia, thus paving the way for Zash to take his place and become a Darth. Zash graces her apprentice with power and sets the Sith inquisitor on a new mission: the recovery of artifacts once belonging to the ancient Sith Tulak Hord. With these artifacts, Darth Zash will complete a ritual to bestow considerable power on Zash and her apprentice.

The Sith inquisitor scours the galaxy for Tulak Hord's artifacts. Early in the hunt, the inquisitor awakens the Force spirit of Aloysius Kallig, an ancient apparition who died millennia ago. Kallig reaches out to the inquisitor and reveals that they share a bloodline – the inquisitor is the heir to Kallig's ruined legacy. Kallig pledges to help the Sith inquisitor restore honor to their bloodline. Guided by this new ghostly ally, the inquisitor seeks out the remaining artifacts for Darth Zash and builds a personal power base along the way.

With the Dashade assassin Khem Val in tow, the inquisitor returns to Darth Zash and interrupts her in the middle of a dark ritual. Zash welcomes her apprentice and reveals her terrible secret: Zash's youthful appearance is only an illusion – in fact, the Sith Lord is ancient, and her body disfigured by the dark side. Zash now plots to achieve eternal youth by possessing the inquisitor as her next body. But when the inquisitor attacks Darth Zash, the Dashade Khem Val sabotages the ritual – inadvertently trapping Zash's consciousness inside his body. Despite her best laid plans, Darth Zash is bound within Khem Val and forced to serve the very apprentice she sought to dominate.

Chapter Two: Spirits of the Past[]

With Darth Zash subdued, the Sith inquisitor inherits her power base and becomes a Sith Lord. But the inquisitor nearly loses everything after being caught in a trap devised by Darth Thanaton, a supremely powerful Sith and harsh traditionalist who bristles at the idea of a former slave rising to sudden influence. To combat Thanaton’s insurmountable strength, the inquisitor learns the ritual of Force-walking and gains power by consuming the energy of Darth Andru, a seething Force spirit locked away on Dromund Kaas. Fueled by the ghost’s power, the inquisitor confronts Thanaton – only to be nearly eradicated by the superior Sith's dark sorcery.

The inquisitor plots revenge. Kallig, the inquisitor's ghostly ancestor, advises his heir to seek out more spirits in preparation for a second duel against Darth Thanaton. The inquisitor explores the far reaches of the galaxy to bind the power of more Sith apparitions. Along the way, the inquisitor amasses more allies and even takes on an apprentice, the former Jedi Padawan Ashara Zavros. Seething with rage, strength, and passions of fallen Sith, the inquisitor once again challenges Darth Thanaton. Though Thanaton struggles against the inquisitor’s increased might, a sudden explosion of Force energy ends the battle and casts the inquisitor into darkness.

Chapter Three: Thanaton’s Last Stand[]

The Sith inquisitor recovers from the violent explosion. Darth Thanaton escapes in the blast while the inquisitor's allies save their wounded Master from the rubble. The explosion that nearly destroyed them all was sparked by the uncontainable power of the Force spirits bound within the inquisitor. Now the inquisitor suffers from a crippling sickness that will prove devastating – if Thanaton doesn't land the killing blow first. The inquisitor explores the far reaches of the galaxy in search of a cure. Meanwhile, news arrives that Darth Thanaton has ascended to the Dark Council and now wields sufficient power to wipe the inquisitor from the galaxy. The inquisitor ultimately cures the sickness to subdue the once-overwhelming Force spirits and wield them as a weapon against Thanaton.

Darth Thanaton declares an ancient Sith rite known as a "Kaggath" to challenge his rival to a duel. Wielding the combined power of the Sith spirits, the inquisitor confronts Darth Thanaton on Corellia, defeats his allies in battle, and forces Thanaton to flee for safety. It is in the Dark Council chambers on Korriban that the Sith inquisitor finally corners Thanaton and utterly destroys the once supreme Sith while the Dark Council bears witness. At their behest, the inquisitor takes Thanaton’s seat, becomes a Darth, and joins the most powerful Sith in the Empire to rule as a member of the Dark Council.
