=Overview=

'''FIRSTBORN''' is a close knit, family guild that was founded with the vision to foster a friendly & encouraging community that focuses on being casually hardcore. We do this by providing steady end-game progression, with a compelling a gaming experience that provides in-game fun with a meaningful impact. We call this a casual PVP with hardcore determination envirnoment. All of the core members of '''FIRSTBORN''' know each other in real life and we have met through games we play and share the same passion for.

==Our Agenda==

To do the impossible. To win the game. MMOs are by design intended to be replayable, but we make the gameplay into an art. An art we master and complete, through careful planning and loyal commitment. '''Firstborn''' PvP and PvE raids are of the highest possible quality. This is why we can proudly say we become the best guild on whichever server we end up playing. If anyone's going to beat the game, it's us.

==FIRSTBORN Legacy==

Founding members in '''Firstborn''' are passionate gamers who are looking for a more relaxed approach to gaming, but with the same emphasis on dedication, professionalism and team work as so-called "hardcore" guilds.

Our primary focus has been playing MMORPGs such as Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Rifts and EVE Online, but we also cater towards other areas of gaming such as FPSs, RTSs and RPGs. We're trying to appeal to a very specific type of gamer. The reason for this isn't arrogance, but because a lot of our core members have been in world top 10/very prominent communities/guilds for the best games of different genres (like World of Warcraft, EVE Online, etc), there's a level of dedication at that end of gaming we haven't really found anywhere else. We want that in our guild, but we're all too old and too jaded to raid 7 days a week for 24 hours a day.

These are the most important aspects of what we offer players who join '''Firstborn'''. Aside from good plain old fun, new friends, etc, you gain the advice of people who have a long experience playing successfully these types of games, in this way, we can help you get the maximum of your character type and the time you dedicate to your game, be it 8-hrs in the week or 8 hrs a day. We offer the casual, laid back, & good natured enjoyment of Star Wars: The Old Republic with like-minded adults. If you have yet to find a guild that feels like it is a good fit for both your personal and virtual life, please consider becoming a member of '''Firstborn'''.

==Recruitment==

We are recruiting new members, during the early launch period. We think that as a guild that will be available since the early launch, we have an unrivaled opportunity to break the typical guild paradigm for recruiting and we are opening our doors to anyone who is going to be playing in the early launch.

===Age Requirements===

Players must be at least 18 years of age to be considered eligible for entry into '''FIRSTBORN'''. The age requirement is a measure to ensure maturity within the guild. It does not mean all under 18 are immature, it just plays the odds.

==What about VOIP?==

We have our own, Ventrilo server. We offer this free to all our members. We encourage our members to be on Ventrilo all the time, so that we can socialize while we play the game. Our best players always hang in Ventrilo offering advice to anyone that needs it.

==PVP==

In PvP we follow the honour code. If the enemy wants a 1on1, any '''Firstborn''' member accepting this is expected to uphold it or face an infraction based on the severity of the fight. In the event of group pvp, members are to gather to their senior officer and follow his instructions. If the odds are uneven, members are expected to leave the field to give the opposing side a fighting chance so it's not over too fast.

==Raiding==

We still don't know how Raiding is going to work in the universe of SWTOR. We have these guidlines more as a rule of thumb and will get updated as we progress. Raiding is not for everyone and its a privilege. We think that Raiding is a kind of activity that happens with members of the guild that are ready for a higher level of action the game offers.

If you are a member of '''Firstborn''', you are not forced or required to Raid with us.

On the other hand, if you want to raid with us you are fully expected to keep a fast pace and high efficiency. This not only ensures the maximum amount of time spent accomplishing and learning fights but also ensures raid members are not cheated by their efforts. ''Raiders'' are expected to know the encounters beforehand, preferably by the account of their '''RAID LEADER''', but if time is of the essence, you may refer to the walk-through posted in the our Dungeon Guide Forum. By fast paced we do not by any means mean reckless. Raiders that are reckless or lazy or ignorant will not be tolerated as this simply slows down and wastes others time and mats.

All are members are expected to know their buffing assignments and to rebuff immediately if buffs expire or after rezzing someone. On this same note members will be expected to maintain food buffs and potions/elixirs/weapon oils/flasks etc; at all times from the point buff is called at the start of the raid to the end.

Deaths and or rezes are to be coordinated so as to occur instantly after combat breaks or a wipe occurs. No afk's because you die. Use of recalls, battle rezzes, and "wipe it" are reserved for the RAID LEADER to call or assign. Do not do this with out guidance. When said actions are called do it as fast and expediently as possible.

===Raid Leader===

The Raid Leader ideally is a player chosen by the Council who has considerable prior experience running the instance. The Raid Leader know by heart what every single pull consists of and an effective way to take the pull out and move to the next one, as well as to expect the unexpected during the fight and communicate to the group a strategy to deal with it if it happens. In the end the Raid Leader, in charge of the raid is doing so by their best judgment. If the Raid Leader makes a bad call in your opinion, please wait until the raid is over and talk to an officer about it. Discussions and arguments will not be had during raid. Players that make a scene during the raid will be muted if need be, sanctioned or not invited to the next raid.

=Guild Command Structure=

==Guild Leadership==

The Guild Leadership is the authority extreme. Currently the leadership of the guild is overseen by two players. They may over rule any decision made by the Board and change the raid schedule without Raid Leader approval. The Guild Leadership has the final say on all things.

===Badr===

Definition of Badr: bad·r: Head Honcho: "It ain't the size, it's... no, it's the size of the gun that is..." All major decisions are discussed between the GL and the XO and a joint decision has to happen to be carried out. In the absence of the GL, the XO has all the power to make a decision.

===Molten===

Definition of Molten: mol·ten: Co-Leader: "Chaos, panic, & disorder -- my work here is done". The guild is managed in a dual leadership carried out by the Guild Leader and the Co-Leader. Our responsibilities are to ensure that we stick to our guild philosophies, recruit the right people as Officers and Leaders, recruit the right members - and make the guild environment as pleasant as possible.

==Officers==

Officers are recruited to assist the Guild. They help with the recruitment process, invites to the guild, banning members, moderating the forums. They are here to help make the guild environment as pleasent as possible. Their job is to help players with their gameplay and their classes, to keep the guild bank stocked and to make sure protocol is followed and will handle dispute between members. Officers may also take guild bank requests.

==Raid Leaders==

Raid Leaders are members chosen by uniform vote by guild members, officers and the guild leadership. They plan and do raids and make sure members meet the equipment requirements.

==Council==

Council is formed by the Guild Leadership, the Officers and 5 players from the Senior Members and Members. Council members have absolute rule over member disputes, and may invoke a kick petition should a member fail to meet the guild standards. The Council is a purely diplomatic body created to help the leadership guide the guild accordingly. Any Senior Member or Regular Member in the Guild Council, who petitions to be in the Officer group will be taken in priority over other requestors.

==Members==

Members are granted basic forum access, and may petition items from the guild bank by having an Officer retrieve it for them. Disagreements between members must be taken to the officer level to be settled. Failure to find settlements will raise the conflict to the Council. Council settlements require an officer to represent each member involved, and will be held with in a closed meeting over Ventrilo.

==Initiates==

New members start out as initiates. They have a 2 week grace period in which they get a feel for the guild and our type of game play. Initiates do not have access to guild bank.

==Guild Bank Rules==

Because SWTOR currently doesn't have a working guild bank (as far as we know), we're using guild bank mules. They're grouped by Item Bank, Material Bank and Initial Supplies. Item petitions must be posted on the guild forums or through an Officer within the game. Officers will carry a log of who took what on the Guild Bank Forums. Donations should be done through the Officers, to make sure the item as correctly stored.
